zodiac warriors

This project was to create illustrations with zodiac signs which I chose to create zodiac signs as Dungeons and Dragons classes.

Zodiac Sign: Libra

Class: Cleric

Since the Libra symbol is the scales of justice, it would make sense to choose the Cleric class since they’re known for both capable in combat and skilled in the use of diving magic, keeping a balance in physical and magical techniques.

With the design, I used a blindfold inspired by Lady Justice because it portrays justice as unbiased and should not be influenced by a person's looks or other external factors. The scales of justice were placed on the shield to fit the sword and shield weapon I put for the character to use. When picking a color scheme, it was shown that they had colors of purple which I placed silver colors to match. I also implemented a birthstone and flower that both represent Libras with an amethyst and a rose.

Zodiac Sign: Leo

Class: Bard

When researching for Leo, they’re known for being generous and confident which I felt would fit for the Bard class since they’re very carefree and always try to encourage their teammates with the power of music.

With the design, I chose to make the character male to put a balance between the other two zodiac signs since they’re both women. With choosing an instrument, I wanted to do a stringed instrument and the most used one for the Bard class was a Lute. When picking a color scheme, it was shown that they had colors of yellows, oranges, and browns. I also implemented a birthstone and a flower that both represented Leos with a ruby and a sunflower.

Zodiac Sign: Virgo

Class: Druid

When investigating Virgo, the emblem is invariably a girl bearing wheat, understood as a fertility goddess, similar to the Babylonian goddess Ishtar and the Greek goddess Persephone. Because the sign is an earth sign, it seemed natural to choose the Druid class because they are nature-oriented, connecting with the land and the power it contains, and performing spellwork that combines the two.

With the design, I thought to give her a half-shave head with details of vines to fit the nature style with the rest being in a braid. With her weapon, I chose a staff and implemented the wheat to the top of the staff with the birthstone in between. When picking a color scheme, it was shown that they had colors of greens and reds which I placed gold colors to match. I also implemented a birthstone and a flower that both represent Virgos with an aventurine and a chrysanthemum.
